Waverly Alonso
A Graphic Artist based out in North East Texas
I am a fellow transplant in Texas, that came from Los Angeles, California. I went to Woodbury University to major in animation and I graduated in 2018. With my background in animation, the stories and ideas that stem from my background help inspire me for some of designs- especially when it comes to making t-shirt designs for kids.
Before moving to Texas, I was a graphic designer/production associate for a small t-shirt making kiosk (in a mall). That's where I started to learn how to design t-shirts for customers on the spot. I learned how to design for vinyl and Direct to Garment. Learning vinyl was a transferrable skill when it came to my job in Caddo Mills, because there I was doing vinyl and screen print. Learning how to design for screen print was certainly interesting and eye opening. I learned to hone in on my graphic design skills along learning how to make designs in a cost-effective way.
